Paper art is like an impromptu meal put together in minutes that really hits the spot, as opposed to a well though out and orchestrated formal dinner, which is like a painting or other major piece. The fast, disposable medium of paper wiith ink, watercolour and acrylics allows me to explore new ideas and techniques without the pressure to create a finished, polished piece. I am able to take creative risks and allow my subconscious full reign.

Furthermore, I see this type of art as a form of contemporary symbolism, as it allows me to explore and convey meaning through unconventional techniques. As a feminist, I am also drawn to the idea of subverting traditional artistic norms and expectations, and disposable, temporary art provides a perfect platform for this. Through this medium, I can create works that challenge norms of style, beginning with my own.
